Experience Reiki Sessions that are Truly Mum-Friendly

What makes reiki with me different with me is the way I hold space. Having lived experience of the complex, messy realities of motherhood means I am all about creating mum-friendly, collaborative reiki sessions, shaped by a deep understanding that every mum’s needs and preferences are different. My approach is down-to-earth, consent-led, and responsive to how your body finds calm.

Making space for you

Trying to navigate the early months of recovering from the birth, navigating feeding, experiencing hormones totally out of whack, the fog of sleep deprivation, and trying to decode what our little ones are trying to let us know is… a lot. Whether it’s your first child or third, there’s just so much to get to grips with when you have a new baby, without often barely any time to think, let alone relax and replenish our energies.

If you’re a mum to a little or bigger ones, please know this is a reiki space that welcomes you exactly as you are. You don’t need to have it all together. If you’ve leaked on your top, have jam smeared in your hair, or are so tired you can’t string a sentence together, that’s ok.

If you feel touched out, or recovering from an invasive birth process, for example, reiki is a great option as it works equally well with no touch. And if you feel overstimulated and just want to tune out the world in the session with a weighted eye mask and headphones in, go for it. There’s even the option of receiving reiki sat or lying on a suspended swing in the space if you want to be the one feeling calm rocking for a change!

What might this look like in practice?

This is a space that is designed to meet your needs and you come first here. So you’ll have free reign over what music/sounds you’d like to play, and how you would like to receive the treatment (e.g. light-touch/no-touch, blankets etc). Let’s be real - childbearing changes our bodies and this is a space where there’s no shame if you need to keep popping to the toilet (there is a toilet accessible directly from the room), or need to keep shifting your body position to feel comfortable e.g. after a c-section. I want you to know and you can make as many adjustments as you need during the treatment.

If you can’t find childcare that feels right or it falls through, let me know and we can discuss whether it might work to bring your pre-crawler baby with you. If you manage to plan the timing so they nap through the session, wonderful. And if they won’t settle or wake up and need feeding, cuddles, to be sung to, or to be changed, that’s all completely fine.

Reiki can flow in stillness or in motion—while you sit, lie down, or tend to your baby. We’ll work flexibly with whatever’s happening in the moment. Because if we wait for the perfect time, many mums never end up having time dedicated to their care and attention.
